A Clinic for the Forgotten

When the earthquake struck Sagaing and Mandalay, the devastation was widespread, but some of the hardest-hit were the communities already living on the margins. For many, access to official hospitals and relief programs was limited or even impossible. This is where your support made a lifesaving difference.

Through your donations, our trusted partners provided free health services for more than 300 earthquake survivors from Muslim communities who might otherwise have gone untreated . These clinics became critical hubs of care, offering first aid, medical treatment, and even psychosocial support for traumatized families.

One such patient was Daw Tin Aye, a 65-year-old grandmother who had been injured during the earthquake. Unable to access a hospital due to her location and the many barriers that marginalized groups face, she suffered in silence, until she reached the community clinic you helped support. There, she received proper medical attention and was able to fully recover.

But the impact didn’t stop with her treatment. Her grandchildren received nutrition support and counseling, helping the entire family to begin the process of healing, physically and emotionally.

Why Local Health Access Matters

In Myanmar, where political restrictions and systemic discrimination can delay or block aid, grassroots health services are a lifeline. Your contributions bypassed those barriers and put resources directly into the hands of trusted local partners who could act quickly.

By supporting these efforts, you ensured that care reached the people who needed it most, not weeks later, but when it was most urgently required.

This story is just one of many, but it illustrates the power of community-led humanitarian action. Health support is not just about bandages and medicine, it’s about dignity, inclusion, and the chance for entire families to start over after tragedy.

Your generosity made this possible. Thank you for standing with Myanmar’s most vulnerable when they needed you the most.
